Role overview
We are seeking a talented and experienced Actuarial Manager to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong actuarial or engineering background, with a specialization in large scale transformations. This role will involve working closely with our team of 20 actuaries and 10/11 non-actuarial technology experts to deliver high-quality modelling, cashflow, valuation, and pricing services to our clients.
A key responsibility for this role is to help our clients’ navigate “North Star” new generation technology (AI / Machine Learning etc etc) and take a holistic approach to implementation of appropriate transformation solutions.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and manage the actuarial technology team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services to our clients.
- Collaborate with actuaries and non-actuarial technology experts to develop and implement innovative solutions.
- Help clients implement IFRS 17 and provide guidance on future strategic directions, including exploring opportunities with Tyche and Python for “self build” solutions.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in technology, ensuring that our team is well ahead of traditional VBA/macros automation.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, understanding their needs and providing tailored solutions.
- Mentor and develop junior team members, fostering a collaborative and inclusive team environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Mathematics or a related field.
- Minimum of 1.5 years of experience in leading an actuarial technology / modelling team.
- Experience with .NET, front-end development, and cloud technologies.
- Proficient in Tyche, Python, or other equivalent relevant tools and technologies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
