Unidata Consultant (EU)

Role Overview

We are working with a leading manufacturer to find an experienced Multi-Value consultant/developer. This role will advise on, guide, and potentially implement multi-language capabilities for their core business application which runs on Unidata and System Builder.

Project Background

Our client is looking to expand into international markets, initially starting with Europe. They need to upgrade and adapt their database schema and structures to correctly handle non-English character sets (specifically European accents and characters) within customer and patient addressing, without breaking existing systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Consulting & Advisory: Provide guidance on the best architecture for enabling multi-language/multi-character support in Unidata (e.g., advising on whether languages must run inside their own accounts/realms or if they can be mixed, and how to utilize UniData's translation or internationalization features).

• Implementation Support: Once the direction is established, assist the in-house development team with hand-holding, technical guidance, and direct database adjustments/development.

• Knowledge Transfer: Explain the inner workings of the solution to the internal team to ensure they can maintain and support the system long-term.

Technical Environment

• Database/Platform: Rocket U2 UniData 

• Development Tool: System Builder 

• Key Focus: Multilingual data handling, character-set conversions, and database variables/language configuration facilities.
