MulitiValue (UniVerse) Developer / Engineer

IN SHORT:   MultiValue (UniVerse pref), Dev role working on API type integrations.  You'll be the MV side with someone else doing the Java part. end user site.  Contract 3-6 months initially.

A leading end user in the UK is looking for an experienced Rocket UniVerse / MultiValue Developer to support a major programme of development and integration work. 

The project forms part of an ongoing technology roadmap focused on improving the integration between established UniVerse applications and modern API-based services.

A separate Java development resource will be working on the project, with this role providing the specialist UniVerse expertise required to design, develop and deliver the MultiValue elements of the solution.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance functionality within the Rocket UniVerse environment.
• Deliver UniVerse development required for a series of integration and roadmap initiatives.
• Work alongside Java developers and other technical resources.
• Integrate UniVerse applications and data with modern APIs and external services.
• Analyse existing UniVerse programs, applications and data structures.
• Troubleshoot integration and application issues.
• Take ownership of UniVerse development through to delivery.

Essential Experience

• Strong commercial Rocket UniVerse development experience.
• Excellent UniVerse BASIC / Pick BASIC skills.
• Strong understanding of MultiValue applications, files, dictionaries and data structures.
• Experience integrating UniVerse/MultiValue systems with REST APIs, web services, Java or other external applications.
• Ability to understand and work with an established codebase.
• Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of deliverables.

Desirable

• Rocket MVIS / MultiValue Integration Server experience.
• Java integration experience.
• Experience API-enabling or modernising established MultiValue applications.
• Experience working on integration or digital transformation projects.
• This is a hands-on development role suited to an experienced UniVerse specialist who can bridge traditional MultiValue technology with modern API and integration environments.
