Prospectus IT Recruitment was founded in 1988 by Elkie Holland, at a time when IT recruitment was powered by faxes, phones, and paper CVs. Since then, we’ve grown, adapted, and evolved through every wave of change in the industry - while staying true to the values of integrity, trust, and results.
The 1980s & 1990s – Laying the Foundations
Recruitment looked very different in the late 80s. With no internet and little automation, success depended on networks, relationships, and relentless drive. Prospectus built its reputation by going deep into specialist IT markets - building credibility in areas like MultiValue technologies, where few others could deliver.
The 2000s – Becoming Specialists
As enterprise systems like ERP expanded and new platforms like Salesforce (launched in 1999) emerged, Prospectus doubled down on being niche. While many agencies spread themselves thin, we chose to focus on hard-to-find technologies and specialist IT hires - developing a reputation as trusted experts who could deliver where others couldn’t.
The 2010s – Advisory & Evolution
By the 2010s, the recruitment world was shifting. Social media, online communities, and global data transformed access to talent. At the same time, compliance challenges like IR35 reshaped the market. Prospectus evolved too - combining traditional recruitment expertise with new tools and taking on a more strategic advisory role, guiding both clients and candidates through an increasingly complex landscape.

In today’s fast-moving market, speed and precision matter more than ever. That’s why we built our proprietary TED framework (Target → Engage → Deliver) - blending smart technology with recruiter intuition to deliver faster, better outcomes.
We also became a trusted AI Talent Partner and HR Talent Strategist, helping companies and agency partners design ethical, future-proof hiring strategies.
But while tools and data have changed, one thing has not: we remain rooted in relationships and people-first recruitment.
