Job Description

We have a great opportunity for a .Net Developer with strong C#, SQL Server, HTML, WebServices & JavaScript skills to join an established company based in West Yorkshire. You will be responsible for .Net software development on the company's third party systems and custom application portfolio. You will lead the migration of the existing legacy platform to a mainly Microsoft based enterprise level stack and will work to modern development methods and practices utilising TDD and ALM.

Required skills:

· C#

· SQL Server (use of stored procedures, Transact- SQL, SSIS/DTS packages)

· HTML, JavaScript, JQuery and CSS

· .NET WebServices using SOAP, XML, REST, Ajax

· .NET MVC

· TFS for version control

· Solid planning and estimation skills

· Ability to Working to tight timescales

· Some experience of waterfall & agile methodologies

Any experience of the following technologies is desirable:

· LINQ / Lambda expressions

· Writing Unit Tests and Unit Testing tools (TDD)

· TFS for Application Lifecycle Management (ALM)

· A science, engineering or mathematical based university degree

· MS Dynamics CRM / Nav

· ERP Systems and Design

· Middleware products like Scribe, Biztalk, other ESB's

Main Responsibilities will include:

· Work as part of a team to develop large enterprise level software solutions

· Contribute to the full development life-cycle

· Remain up to date constantly with MS technology developments and make recommendations as to how these could be deployed to benefit the company

· Take ownership of the design and development of the Business Solutions

· Support and maintain existing Business Solutions

· Review designs and code of other team members

· Develop and maintain internal tooling

· Create and review detailed feature specifications

· Contribute to the architectural and design decisions of the IT group

· Ensure that delivery of solutions and services are aligned with the IT strategy

· Ensure all code is under version control

· Investigation and resolution of incidents and problems reported to the service desk

· Work to the company's adopted ALM, ISEB/ITSQB and ITIL best practice

· Use of development collaboration tools for work tracking, resource planning and metric reporting

· Actively work towards a collaborative team ethos and engaging with the rest of the .Net team to own collective responsibility for the teams output

· Production of accompanying technical documentation for the development team, business stakeholders, the testing team and the service management team.
