How much can I claim?

From 6 April 2020 – £6 per week or £26 per month

Prior to 6 April 2020 – £4 per week or £18 per month

Figures above are based on 20% basic rate of tax

So for someone who has been working from home from 6 April 2020 to 16 October 2020 (about a 28 week period), you could be entitled to:

£6 x 28 weeks = £168.00

How do I claim

Making a claim is easy – go to GOV.UK and search 'claim tax relief for your job expenses'.

It’s quick and secure, and those who are eligible will receive their full entitlement by an adjustment to their tax code.
