Some tips and hints to help you write the perfect CV
Writing the ultimate CV can be a daunting prospect, especially if you have been in one job for a long time or you are just starting out on your career.
As there are literately thousands of web sites that will guide you though the process of writing a great CV we are not going to re-invent the wheel here! However if you stick to the 5 main points below and also look at our guide to creating a LinkedIn profile you will have all you need to know to create that ultimate CV.
- Keep it simple and a maximum of 3 pages – recruiters take around 8 seconds to decide whether a candidate is worth meeting from looking at their CV
- Write a profile – one paragraph is enough
- If you have any gaps in your career explain these in a short sentence
- Be honest and don’t lie about qualifications or responsibilities
- Check for spelling and grammatical errors
