How to behave on LinkedIn

5 key points to remember:

1. Know who you're connecting with - make sure that everyone you connect with knows you well and has respect for you.

2. Share - be generous with the information you share, but do not give information too freely. The more you give, the more you will receive.

3. Be polite - never say anything negative or state anything which is untrue or that you are not sure about. Employers search social and business networking sites and will see anything that you post.

4. Be visible - Make sure you are active on the site. Visibility is key to picking up new connections.

5. Remember: LinkedIn is a public site and anything that is incorrect or hurtful will stay on the site forever. Anything you write can be indexed by search engines, so anything you would not want people to read, should not be written.
