Recruiters often head to LinkedIn to find candidates. A great way to help Recruiters is to showcase your work there for them. You can do this by adding some Apps to your profile.

There are many but our top 7 are:

Slideshare: Upload and share your presentations online. Lots of formats are supported including: ppt, pps, pptx, odp, pdf, doc, docx, odt, Keynote, iWork. You can also embed YouTube videos in presentations and add audio to make a webinar. Slideshare is available on LinkedIn and Facebook and you can Syc these accounts.

Box.Net: You can manage and share files on your Profie using Box.Net. It's great for keeping your CV on it if you are a jobseeker or perhaps a job specification or even perhaps a company overview if you're looking for investors.

GitHub Social Coding: This is a great one for technical people. Showcase your GitHub projects on LinkedIn and allow your code to be a vital part of your professional identity. You are also able to see projects your LinkedIn Connections are working on.

Portfolio Display: This is powered by Behance and is aimed at showcasing visual work. Very useful for jobseekers and freelancers !

Google Presentations: Present yourself and your work. Upload a .ppt or use Google's online application to embed a presentation on your profile. Add a presentation to:
  • Showcase a recent talk or presentation.
  • Display a visual portfolio of your professional achievements.
  • Introduce yourself to recruiters and professional contacts viewing your profile.
BlogLink: This connects your blog to your LinkedIn profile. It works in 2 directions. Your connections can see your blog postings and you can easily see your LinkedIn connections' blog postings. It supports TypePad, Movable, Type, Vox, Wordpress.com, Wordpress.org, Blogger, LiveJournal, and many more.

WordPress: Link your WordPress blog with LinkedIn and it will automatically send updates to your network. You can filter your posts with a special LinkedIn tag. We do not recommend that you add all these to your LinkedIn profile but perhaps add a couple to help differentiate yourself and your profile in a positive way.
